Interesting NZ Bush

 In Te Maunga we have been learning about the Under NZ Bush Canopy. Flax is a plant that is found in the NZ bush. Flax is stiff and tough with red and orange margin. The flaxs diet is soil and minerals, their predators and dangers are ladybirds, they are 3ft and 11 in and flax lives on hills, forests and in bushes. Kiwi have tiny wings but cannot fly. Kiwi have no tail and feathers but they do have whiskers like a cat.  The kiwi diet is berries, wild lice, millipedes, they are 14 to 18 inches. Kiwi predators and dangers are stoats, ferrets. dogs, cats and possums and they live in native forests and bushes.

Poetry

 In Te Maunga we have been learning about poetry. I learnt about what metaphors are. A metaphor is comparing something to something else.  Here’s an example, Emma is a walking dictionary.

SoundScapes

 In Te Maunga we have been learning about musical instruments and at the end of the slide there is always a create  for us to do. This create was to create a soundscape using different materials around the classroom/our house. My group was Jaelyn-Marie, Anika, Jacinta-Lee and I. We used sticks cracking, whistling for the wind, fake jelly beans for the rain and rubbing a pencil on the table. I learned that people make sounds to put into movies and how to make sounds.

Dinosaurs

In Te Maunga we have been learning about dinosaurs. I learnt that carnivore is a meat eater, herbivore is a plant eater and omnivore is a meat and plant eater.  What I liked the most was when we were watching the volcano erupt.

Viruses, Fungi And Bacteria

In Te Maunga we have been learning about fungi, bacteria and viruses. Types of Viruses are Coronavirus, Flu and Chickenpox.  Types of Fungi Are Mushroom, Athlete's foot, Ringworms. Types of Bacteria are Protozoa, Runny nose, Sneezing.
