In Te Maunga we have been learning about measurement. I learnt about measuring and weighing. I learnt how to weigh 600ml bottles. The brown paper bag from countdown holds 14.2 litres of water in the bag. My favourite activity was breaking bags because it was fun and interesting.
In Te Maunga we have been doing cricket. In cricket I learnt how to hit the ball. It wasn't just regular cricket it was speed cricket so you have to hit the ball and run as fast as you can to pass the bat to the next person. They put us in groups in one and twos. When the fielding team catches 3 balls when the batter hits it they quickly swap and the fielding team is now batting. If they miss the ball you put the bat down but you still have two more bats left.
In Te Maunga we have been learning about poetry. I learnt about what metaphors are. A metaphor is comparing something to something else. Here’s an example, Emma is a walking dictionary.
