Action World

Yesterday the seniors went to Action World. We walked to Action World. When we got there we went over to this tent and this lady Carol told us the rules then she asked if there was anyone who hasn't been here before. There was a trapeze, water slide, mini cars, obstacle course and lots more. I liked everything there but if I had to choose I would choose the trapeze.

T-Shaped Literacy

In my class Te Maunga we made a T-shaped literacy called Recycling. Also in our T-shaped literacy we were focusing on four words. These are the four words recycle, refuse, reduce and reuse. First recycling  it means you recycle for example a beer bottle and then it gets sent to a recycling plant and gets made into something useful. Refuse the recycling gets thrown into the dump. For reuse you can use things you have used multiple times. For reduce you have to cut right back on what you have made.

How A Plant Grows

In my class Te Maunga we did an animation about how plants grow. We read books and explained the steps on how a plant grows. I did an animation about popcorn and the steps on how popcorn grows. It was hard  because we had to keep putting images on and duplicating the slide. In the books we had to read them to get information out of them and then put it in our own words. I learnt that popcorn grows an interesting way.

My group made a salad and we used Feta cheese, Lettuce, Silverbeet, Carrots, Celery,  Avocado, Spring onions, Tomatoes and Parsley. Our dressing was honey mustard. After we made our salad we also learnt how plants grow for our reading t-shaped literacy. We had to explain how a plant grows in the 7 steps. We had four stories to read about the 7 steps on how a plant grows. Then we had to create a google slide and make an animation about the 7 steps on how a plant grows.

Sea Life

In Te Maunga we do T-Shaped literacy. For T-Shaped literacy we were doing Sea life. Sea life is where we find stuff on the internet about sea creatures and put them in a table. It was fun. The advertisement is about  saving the sea turtles and other creatures.

Juices Project

Yesterday the 25th of September we did an experiment. Me and my friends used material, cardboard, polystyrene, foam, cardboard holder, ruler, lunch bag holder, juices and sellotape. The box we made wasn't that great but it was worth it. Our juices were not that solid.

Project Energize

I learnt that there are 4 food groups, grains, dairy, fruit and vegetables and meat. If you eat fat chips it has less fat in it than if you eat thin chips they have more  fat in it. We also learnt that Coca- Cola has 16 teaspoons of sugar in it and milk and water are the best drinks to drink. Last year I was in Nga-Motu we had Whaea Gina come in and we tried smoothies with yogurt in it.

Cross Country Day

On Friday the 30th of August the whole school went to Bledisloe and we did cross country. I didn’t do Cross Country because I had a really sore ankle and I can’t run until 3 to 6 weeks, so me and Thea were the photographer's taking the photos of the people that were running.
